programming is not just for cs majors, its just a basic competence like high school level math that anyone born after 1990 who wants to do skilled labour should know.

I get the feeling that programming is about to be radically democratized, but more in the sense of seeking methods of approaching problems, rather than in terms of strict coding.

The average person just doesn’t and will never have the logic and math needed to code well. At best you get them using stuff like Excel which makes things very simple due to features like displaying all the data and cell reference, but at the cost of making advanced logic a nightmare to use and running like absolute dogshit.

Where did you find that picture and is that program accessible to the general public

Most of the problems that people want to solve day to day don't require particularly novel or efficient solutions. Which is why, soon, most people will just get AI to write the code for them.

You can play with a bunch of combinations on that page. When it's fully released, they're going to make people purchase tokens to use it. It runs on a really big cluster, so it's kinda impractical to sell the software. It uses non-trivial amounts of electricity, so they can't really allow free use. Also they probably don't want the general public to make mountains of photorealistic CP with it.
Although, you can train it yourself, but it cost them ~$4.5 million in electricity, let alone hardware, to train it, so don't expect great results unless you're willing to throw some resources at it.

Exactly this. The majority of humanity is a waste of oxygen and resources, and will ever only be a burden for the high-IQ individuals. Mediocrity is only the norm because of the unwashed masses of humanoid nobodies.

It may be useful, but until CS fixes their terminology and creates a proper nomenclature instead of pulling shit out of english and slapping autistic meanings on common words, it is impossible to teach it to the general population. Also, there doesn't seem to be a pedagogic effort or a way to organize the shit to transfer the knowledge efficiently.

> Linguist here! In those ancient languages, there was no standard writing direction or standardized spelling conventions. In fact the Greeks often wrote in either direction alternating in a method called "boustrophedon" which means "ox-turning." You get to the end of the line and then write backwards to the other side of the page; it's actually much better for reading

> As for why so many of the letters flipped, it's because they used to be written in both directions. But with the introduction of ink, left to right eventually became standard (less smudging if you're right-handed).

No, anon, you don't understand. You just need to learn a special language that will write programs for you. All by itself! You just need to learn the elements of this special language, the proper sequences of arranging those terms, how to avoid redundancy, cyclic relations...
