I'm reading Catch-22, so nothing really scientific or hardline fiction-wise. I was reading The Book of the New Sun...the first part, The Shadow of the Torturer, by Gene Wolfe. Unfortunately someone requested it, and I couldn't hold onto it and finish it in-time. I plan on buying it soon though.

The reason I got that book from the library was because it was recommended as a good book for coordinate-free relativity.
I've always liked the ideas in general relativity, but every single equation there was ugly as fuck. I was hoping to find a modern book that uses index-free notation as much as possible, and this is where I've ended up.

Fair enough. I have not seriously studied much in the way of physics or mathematics in a while--like five years. I always liked going to mathworld.wolfram.com for shits and giggles, but much of it was beyond me. I had a physics professor that tried to instruct me in galois theory and topology once, and that shit was goofy hard, albeit not entirely physics related.

pic related, I've been thumbing through it...it's the most scientific thing I have been reading lately.

I went to a Catholic high school, and I always found it funny that G/god and anything religion-related was never mentioned in any of my science classes including physics, biology, chemistry, and physiology. Not once. In fact, I could probably count on both hands the times religion was actually mentioned outside of theology class.
