Its a collection of doctors who believe the consequences of lockdowns > the harm of covid. It isn't undermining the science behind covid, its just their personal moral assessment. The only thing I don't agree with is them claiming that disease spread 'cannot be stopped' (when we known from first principle social distancing does stop disease spread and its a matter of incorporating it into as many elements of society as possible) and that countries aren't sticking to their pandemic preparation plans- however those plans were made for flus with no significant asymptotic spread periods, and that is a new condition that covid has introduced. Finally, this was made before the new, super-spreading strain that changes the balance between suffering due to covid and suffering due to lockdown- now there is a significantly higher chance of hospitals being overwhelmed sooner and to a worse extent.

If we had a more robust hospital infrastructure that was prepared for potential pandemics, then we could definitely proceed with social distancing and lockdown measures differently. Unfortunately hospital administrators and politicians think only short term when it comes to public health if they do at all
