tl;dr: How do I made chloroform?

I require your assistance, /sci/. I want to know how I can go about obtaining relatively small quantities of chloroform (inb4 murder, etc. I'm looking to extract and purify certain... organic compounds). By small, I mean in the <1L range. It is my understanding that it is illegal for an average citizen to purchase chloroform (as it is so often used for illegal activities) and I do not have ready access to any laboratories and won't for at least several months. the only option thus left to me is synthesizing it myself. Does anyone here have experience in synthesizing it? If so, your help would be greatly appreciated.

yeah you can make it out of bleach and acetone. google if you want moar info.

reaction is exothermic and needs to be kept cool so it doesn't all blow off as fumes. also it is going to be difficult to get it separated without a separatory funnel but you can probably figure something out.
