I had a similar thing with a sinus infection
I did a round of antibiotics prior to my appointment and my infection responded and waned until I ran out of antibiotics and it came back.
But no, they insisted it was covid and gave me a test despite not having any symptoms other than the sinus infection symptoms that arguably cross over with the vague as fuck covid "symptoms".
The test came back negative over a week later.
By then it was gone.
