I like Elon. He's spending his wealth on cool things that I'm interested in, even if they're far fetched for now.
As for his Hyperloop, I'm sure this was for research and experience in tunneling under mars. if you could build something like and make it pay, it would go along way towards his plan of a mars base (which in my onion would have to be underground).
While retards like Rogan lap up the Nuerolink hype, the real research will go a long way towards things like restoring hearing and bionic limbs for amputees. It's a start at least.

He also said that the boring company only takes up like 10% of his time and in that he probably only works on the tunnels where teslas are able to go at like 100mph and not on the hyperloop.

He only brought it up in the beginning because he knew it was going to be free press if he said he was working on a way to travel from LA to San Francisco in half an hour and it would have cemented his image of a visionary and innovator

Problem is that Elon's worshippers believe everything he says is manna from heaven so now the Hyperloop is a holy relic to them. You cannot blaspheme the Holy Hyperloop.
Most of what Musk works on is fine and most people who have an interest in what his companies produce are normal people with sane reactions. But the word 'worshippers' is very apt for a certain segment of his followers and they act just as shitty as new converts to a supernatural based religion. Musk is at least partially responsible for this situation because he has followed the Steve Jobs model in cultivating these kinds of fans.
Musk needs to come out and say to his worshippers that the Hyperloop is a flawed idea and cannot succeed in a reasonable fashion without being modified into something else entirely. Until he does that, he's responsible for their assholish behavior based on their religious reverence for everything and anything he proposes.

Neuralink (or some other company's neural implant) might really be a game changer once it extends beyond medical uses, though

Maybe as significant as the invention of the internet or smartphones. Maybe even more significant

Rogan is an idiot and literally thinks no one will be able to lie anymore because we'll all just read each other's thoughts, which obviously isn't how it's going to work, but it may greatly increase density of communication and efficiency for many kinds of work

I hope you're not referencing the thunderf00t video where he "debunks" hyperloop by claiming any leak would be catastrophic because thunderf00t can't cube-square and thought the passengers would face the same acceleration as tiny his scale model even though acceleration from pressure differences across the surface of an object scales proportionally to the square unit of length while volume and mass, assuming a constant density, scales in proportion to the cube unit of length, which means the mass the air pushes against scales faster than the area that it pushes against. He also thought vacuum chambers scaled linearly in cost vs total vacuum pressure when, in reality, it's easy to pump out the first 14.69 psi and that most of the expense goes into getting rid of that last little bit of air.

All of thunderf00t's videos on the hyperloop is based on arguments of incongruity and a lack of basic engineering principles like the incremental use of prototypes to develop aspects of a system before constructing the entire system. The video on maintaining the vacuum system is no different. Not to mention he thinks there is an equivalent to a vacuum chamber created to simulate the conditions of space vs one that just drops the absolute pressure down to 100 Pa (0.75 Torr). The vacuum chamber thunderf00t referenced has an absolute pressure of 4×10^–6 Torr. The pressure inside a Hyperloop tunnel is 187,000 higher than the SEC Vacuum Chamber.

https://www1.grc.nasa.gov/facilities/sec/

And if you think that's an argument from incongruity, then you must believe that a vacuum pump like this

https://www.amazon.com/Welch-Vacuum-8920C-02-Direct-Rotary/dp/B00SBGELZA/ref=sr_1_20?c=ts&dchild=1&keywords=Lab+Vacuum+Pumps&qid=1609736584&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_browse-bin%3A3372482011&s=industrial&sr=1-20&ts_id=393484011

can be replaced with a vacuum pump like this

it's really not- the stated application is rarely the intended application.

Bitcoin was designed to replace the international visa network- a function it excels at, not to be speculated on.
It's actually a function of bitcoin that regardless of how many people speculate on it or how high/low the value is it still functions as a online transaction medium.

SpaceX is a nuclear weapons program, like most NASA programs.
Elon Musk identified that NASA is the black hole in the US budget that funds defense; and thus it had become staggeringly noncompetitive in it's stated objectives.
He is designing the worlds cheapest ICBM, one that can dump a munition cheaper than anything else on the market.
>why make it land
to get the venture capitol from satellite launches

The boring company is a play on words, because he is a boer from South Africa.
It's actually to build vast underground nuclear shelters, which will probably start by moving roads underground and planting things on top of them to reclaim green space in cities.
What do you think the whole track system is for? not for moving cars that's for sure.

The guy is house from Fallout NV IRL

He doesn't really edit or script the videos and just rambles on camera which is the reason it turns out like that. Sometimes it comes out quite nice and other times it's 50 minutes to say 5 minutes of good stuff. Still the science is pretty solid and hes basically always right, just autistic presentation.

about twice that of Ramsar in Iran and people there are just fine (although they shouldn't)
and that's assuming you stand around naked on surface all day

if you build a thick roof over your head and work outside for only a 1 full day per week, you get just about the maximum legally permitted dose, which is quite frankly overcautious number
when you consider that a lot of cancer risks like smog or smoking wouldn't be there, you are probably more safe from cancer on Mars despite the higher radiation

It's easy to be basically right when you either a) choose easy targets like "water from air" machines (he's debunked like half a dozen of those but anyone with a functioning brain stem should know those are stupid) or b) misrepresent things, like in his Space Force video when he literally thought it was "muh space muhreens" when it's actually just the FAA for military satellites.
