I'm a student journalist, I've been participating to different press conferences and I'm a freelance writer. I'm a part of journalism community. I don't know why I have to explain myself but there you go.

That's very subjective of you to say. People who make a profit out of their art are still earning. Being in STEM isn't the be-all and end-all of existence. The main reason why we're underpaid because people like you exist. People who belittle arts and sciences degrees.

Yes but still the choice is still ours to make. I'm pursuing this degree to help the mass and to educate the people.

Those are some vague "skills", and seems to be filled with tautologies, for instance:
>... and innovation
>Creativity, originality...
They might want to put down the purple prose.

Modern journalism has been, as a subject, rendered redundant by the Internet. However, when it comes to the sciences, you still require a standardized education, and certification process, because often, you end up dealing with systems that require thorough knowledge to prevent disaster. Imagine a bunch of uncertified chemists, engineers, or doctors? Who cares if they're filthy journos?

>student journalist

Please kill all your teachers and classmates, then commit suicide. Your wicked kind have contributed nothing positive to humanity, your whole deal is getting hired to a clickbait propaganda machine, to vomit sophistry and false information, while pretending to be in an ivory tower.

Die, scum.

Journalism is useful, too. You guys are probably dead by now without us. It's just that we're underrepresented and underpaid. The reason as to why people like you think that the future relies in STEM is because the society tells you to. It's just a social construct.

How exactly? From the 1990s on, your job has become meaningless.

Ensuring quality of education for high risk jobs isn't a "social construct", you moron.

Although, society is progressed largely by its technological advancement, as it always has been. Sure, some social sciences are also important when it comes to culture, like philosophy, but journalism is a recent fad, and one that died out decades ago. Get over yourself, you're not some great philosopher, you're a fucking wannabe journalist.

You are the only class of people with college diplomas who don't know shit about anything. You are uneducated and proud. You have _zero_ specific knowledge and have absolutely no critical thinking. Your ignorance, bias and lack of skepticism is the big reason why everyone cringes when they read a newspaper article about something they understand. You're a bunch of sociopaths with delusions of grandeur.

Journalists think that "ethics" is nothing but a guideline to avoid getting sued.

You don't think your field is underpaid because writing/language degrees are among the easiest and the applications are the simplest?
