We have been presented with information regarding lions and spiders since birth, generally building up complexity from "cow goes moo" to "cows give us milk" to "we wiped out the auroch from existence and the spirit of this magneficent beast will haunt us for eternity and we will get what we deserve".

Same thing with spiders. It's a cool additional fact, but after years of exposure, it's not some mind-blowing new concept.
