Explain why you think consciousness, a physical process, cannot be replicated via physical means.

flawed question
consciousness expressed in a physical manner =/= consciousness itself is physical

Prove it.

"How do you know we are not beholden to physical processes?"
Because if things were deterministic, then we can't prove that they were or were not, because they'd be deterministic.

How do you propose to create subjective experience out of physical processes?

Couldn't it be said consciousness is akin to an overtone in music?

It's something "above" that results as a bunch of other processes all simultaneously doing their thing.

How would it not be subjective?

>> No.12458222

I don't believe in either extreme, I simply don't know.
How am I to know?
Why would I randomly assume it without pure justification? and if I had the purées justification I would have a great amount of evidence.
to favor not I would have a great deal of evidence that it is not possible, if I was to favor yes then I would have made it already as the purest form of proof.

For all we know consciousness functions via sending signals through some 5D dimensional manifold that can't be replicated with a computer.

Technically yes

Consciousness may be physical, but that does not make it exclusively so
