Yes. Of course.

But Academia is a racket and will try and fight and discredit you every step of the way.

I think it’s less about an active effort to discredit anyone without a degree, and more of a reasonable skepticism given the increasing amount of uneducated people who opine on things they have little understanding of.

That's how science works anon. Shit doesn't (or at least shouldn't) get blindly accepted based on the credentials of the author. Someone who hasn't been professionally trained in the scientific method is going to be an extremely easy target for people who have, since it's their job to pick apart every little detail of your experiments and try to find the slightest flaw. "Discredit" is the wrong word. What you're looking for is "refute", but not even academia can refute reality. If your experiment is air-tight, they have to accept your results.

The acadummy hates actual intellectuals because they just can't "measure" up.

You might be right. Maybe I just feel that way because at my peak in "education" before private sector I was only a STEM department head for a secondary education school district, and so I cannot publish in Academia journals, and therefore I am reduced (I'm kidding I love you all) to shilling my Theory of Everything on 4chan,
https://youtu.be/WuXCS_K_8qM

But Stephen Wolfram did call my theory "really cool" and a professor on Twitter yesterday did say, 'this is impressive and that's not a complement, it's my professional opinion'. I'm insecure and defensive as fk sometimes, so maybe I'm seeing bad faith where none really exists.

Not really, unless you have the funds for a private lab, research funds, probably a team and you can garner a good reputation without a degree, (one of the main purposes of which is to ensure that you can do what you say).

It’s possible, but very difficult and unlikely, unless you’re a ground breaking mind.

Academia became a cult like institution any kind of radical change or brand new idea will eventually come from people shunned from their circle
