Why is everyone fixated on the nuclear wasteland of Mars? Venusian cloud cities are much safer for inhabitants thanks to the atmosphere and you get 4x the solar power, plus it even stays afloat on regular air!

I can't be the only one who thinks we should be heading there not Mars

venus may be better for habitation but mars would be better for resource gathering. Pressure too high on venus for anything to last more than a couple hours

Temperature / climate: impossible on Venus.
Electrical storms: no communication.
On Mars, it feels like the Sahara Desert.

People like having solid ground beneath them. Also, those floating cities will have to be built out of something, and resource gathering on Venus isn't really an option.

Go there and do what?
What goods and services can be produced in Venus's atmosphere that cannot be produced cheaper elsewhere?

This. Colonizing Mars may be harder in some technical terms but it's simply more practical and profitable. A self-sufficient Mars colony is imaginable, Venus not so much.

We genuinely should send a few hab-blimps over there, and give a free ride to anyone who thinks colonizing Venus' atmosphere is a good idea. Then we can just leave them at the bottom of that worthless gravity well to starve.
The only use for Venus is an endless source of CO2 skimmed off the top with atmospheric scoops.

Sure, go there, live in a balloon and somehow grow enough food, or else get costly resupplies from Earth.

And then do what exactly? Carry out research? Confirm that its a toxic place to live and has no resources worth the cost of extracting? Umm, sure, okay, go for it. Take your family and friends with you.

Just make sure they have high quality cameras live streaming a feed back to Earth. It would be entertaining to see exactly how much they get fucked up.

It should be:

1. Moon
2. Venus
3. Mars

we have the tech now for stuff to be walking around on Venus surface, it would be hard today, not that hard in 20 years. Anyways, only happening with an Ai running thins. Humans are tards
