I've got some spare time now to read more and im looking for books that you think change the way you think. specifically books that give good frameworks to understanding maths and science. im not sure if that makes sense, but if you can think of a book you've read that matches that (or really any science and math related book) then id love to hear about them

Also Modernity and Cultural decline is very research heavy. The book spends alot of time on individual models, that are used for a central thesis, being an "evolutionary-behavioral theory of social development", where the individual models are defended against conflicting theories espoused by other scientist with alternative views, if you are interested of how scientific theories are developed and resolved in the present of incongruent data/alternative theories. Likewise the book criticizes other models and books by other scientists quite thoroughly.

I'm not sure if that is what you are looking for when you said "give good frameworks to understanding ... science" but the book illustrates process of developing a scientific theory.
