What does my comrades think of the manhattan beach project? They are claiming that by 2029 they will have successfully isolated whatever in our genome that causes aging or some shit. This will lead to more things and we will have greatly extended lifespans. If it doesn't amount to anything I'm still going cryo when I expire, if need be.

Personally I am keen, because I want to see Humankind's technological advancement and assimilation with biomechanics, and exploration throughout the stars. Oh and I don't liek the idea of losing my consciousness when I die. That would be shit. Because if you fall for this heaven and religious bullshit you are truly retarded.

ITT: the propect of immortality through genetics or biomechanics?

meh, immortality will just lead to overpopulation problems, and generally a reduced standard of living.

>> No.1240855

I...just don't see what the point is in living that long.

This world is so depressing, seeing it decay any further would be too much.

People implying I am not working on learning about the stock market and how to make tons of money every year. I'm still in early years in high and I swear I will have this sorted when I'm out.

If immortality does become possible, it is highly likely people will lose the need to create offspring. Even if only a small population has children, it will be restricted to one per couple. Religious biggots will probably have to be exterminated because of their desire to shun logical thinking and need to breed excessively. And space travel will advance significantly, opening up an infinite amount of planets, terraforming technology etc. I think we will not find overpopulation to be an impposible issue.
