She had the one before I was born and it stopped running when I was a teenager.

Then she just snapped after almost 35 years as a nurse, long after I moved out, and quit. Turns out she had an almost-comical amount of money living in a shithole and living the bare minimum for so long while working the max overtime she was allowed to literally every year, so she up and quit.

She'd buy me all the best shoes and clothes while wearing Walmart brands and eating like she was on food stamps every day. I never knew why she didn't just accept that she was financially stable. The woman made almost six figures because of the overtime but work was almost all that existed.
