It's not just mimicking the organization and structural behavior of the tissues though, but the finer function as well. Bone and connective tissues are all piezoelectric, their compression and subtle deformation modulates neighboring tissue and controls growth.

>what's your view on antibiotics
Variable. Can be useful, but tend to destroy good flora throughout the body and some are overtly neurotoxic. I was in an ER once and witnessed them giving penicillin to an epileptic, and maybe I'm overestimating the degree that it lowers seizure threshold, but it just seemd unwise. Since the introduction of penicillin they've also greatly overshadowed other modalities, the need to search for the source of infection or weakness in the patient. There is vast untapped potential in various plants and their volatile oil fraction (carvacrol, eugenol, thymol, linalool, etc).

>what's your view on meat
Should be fed its natural diet and allowed to roam. I stopped eating red meat for several years (various reasons, neu5gc etc), then stopped eating meat entirely for a while. A lot to be said here, overall the primary issue is with processed food. "Meat" can be anything from grass fed beef from a local farmer, to shitty pink slime fried up with canola and basedbean oil at mcdonalds.

>what's your view on aids
Never really studied it directly. The idea that Rockefeller et al deliberately spread it via infected blood is plausible, I've heard a lot of ideas about whether it's actually caused by a virus as such.

>what's your view on covid 19
Covid aims to get many birds with one stone, but at its core it's a "mask" for a rapid social and economic reorganization. The money being given out for unemployment is purely inflationary and the fed was generating as much as 60 billion per week for months prior to covid. People initially asked how are they going to pay for this, but have seemingly stopped caring. Maybe covert quantitiative easing and bailouts for the financial sector, as the banks remain the "sinks" to which all currency flows. Like a a pulse.

Is self-discipline enough to help someone quit smoking or do most patients need an aid to make it easier? I know it's pretty bad to treat nicotine withdrawal with nicotine (gum or patches), but what's your opinion on it? Nicotine without the tobacco is not that much more dangerous than caffeine, apart from the strength of the addiction but that's no worse than tobacco. It is definitely hard to quit, and with patches or gum he won't be poisoining his friends and family too.

>Nicotine without the tobacco is not that much more dangerous than caffeine
not true
nicotine constricts the small blood vessels

cigarettes are known to be extremely disruptive to wounds and surgery healing
pure nicotine is equally as bad, and that's why vaping for example is nearly just as bad for wound healing as cigarettes

why anesthesiology sucks and is a brainlet specialty for lazy people

1. no decision making - just running algorithms
2. have to know like 10-20 drugs, no more
3. no contact with the patient, which is the doctor's main job and resource
4. very limited medical knowledge, barely know anything about anatomy, internal medicine, neurology and pretty much any other field
5. just need to know 10-15 basic procedures - cathetrizations, intubations, spinal etc.
6. most repetitive shit ever

an internal medicine specialist dealing with an 85 yo geriatric with 10 different comorbidities and taking 20 different drugs is way more complicated and intellectually challenging than anything anesthesiologists have to deal with

Just tell them that if they don't take this medication properly and don't follow the diet changes, it will end up bad for them or they'll have to look for another physician because you feel there can't be anything done to make the patient get any better.

Addiction is retarded, especially for medical workers. My mom was a nurse, Bachelor's level nurse, and she'd work 80 hours a week every week she could for YEARS. Literally decades. She didn't just love work, it was the only place she had a purpose and meaning in life. She'd make six figures while living with me in a studio apartment driving my grandpa's barely running Oldsmobile or a clapped out Honda for >30 years. She had the one before I was born and it stopped running when I was a teenager.

Then she just snapped after almost 35 years as a nurse, long after I moved out, and quit. Turns out she had an almost-comical amount of money living in a shithole and living the bare minimum for so long while working the max overtime she was allowed to literally every year, so she up and quit.

She'd buy me all the best shoes and clothes while wearing Walmart brands and eating like she was on food stamps every day. I never knew why she didn't just accept that she was financially stable. The woman made almost six figures because of the overtime but work was almost all that existed.

so untrue, in Europe most of anesthesiologist have the double competence with critical care, but i'll never understand why so much people thinks it's so lame to be just anesthesiologist

1. No making decision -> most of the time you don't have to take one (and it's why it's anesthesia is safe) but do you really take a decision when you're prescriving aspirin ? Probably not
2. Yeah lame drugs as epinephrin, bupivacain, ketamin -> it's great in fact. But yeah you still can masturbate on anti IL6 if you want
3. No contact with the patient -> consultation, post operative pain, epidural and woman in labor
4. This point is kind of true if you forget pharmacology, echography guided analgesia, physiology, ventilation, nephrology, hemodynamics
5. Yes of cours, just a "few basic" procedures that's why we have such big books about anesthesia
6. It depends really for my part i spare my time between operating room, critical care unit and maternity.

"Ah yes it's so cool to prescribe some apixaban to miss Denzel who can't walk since ten years and is having a flu, what's the name of her cat ?" when you could be richer, doing cooler stuff and still don't give a fuck about the pet's name

Dentists are pretty disrespected, I know some that have passed USMLE but I also know some borderline retards. Generally though dentists make good money and work few hours to do it vs the rest so optometrist and PhD (especially non science) get the least respect.
Really Greys anatomy hurt us a lot. Women and nurses seem to have the most to prove and want to disrespect to like show how important they are if that makes sense. Personally, I don’t give much thought to it, I work 3.5 days and make 200k easy, and I also know that MDs have just as many retards in there profession as dentists do. Doesn’t take a genius to manage an army of diabetics.

>>12421087
It’s boring, some stuff is fun enough, but anesthesia is worse and the procedures are generally short so it’s much better than fixing a hernia or pelvis. Or Managing tyrones A1c. And again, 3.5 days a week.

the ortho fag actually carries a long term responsibility
he'll be going rounds on the patient tomorrow
he'll be following up with image and clinical control in a few months
he'll be examining the patient
he's actually treating and curing the patient
he will be the one to prescribe drugs to the patient in the follow up phase

Ortho fags don’t care about long term outcomes, they just want it to not get infected and then they shrug and move on and get their pay check.

Anesthesia actually does have to go do follow ups now on patients in the hospital after a surgery, it’s stupid but the feds give money to hospitals that do it.

But so what ? You’re clearly in love with the idea of being a hero but I already told you. About 4 months into residency the novelty and ‘challenge’ wears off and it all becomes routine no matter what speciality. It’s all robotic plug and chug, anesthesiologists just get the best quality of life. If you wanted to be intellectually channleged you should have went into research. Medicine is nothing more than life on easy mode and anesthesia and ophthalmology have it the best.

Teeth are basically balls of calcium (97%) that sit in mucosa. Inside the enamel is dentin which is (~60% calcium similair to bone).

You can get problems via acid from the environment chemically removing the calcium and Leaving behind the protein lattice.

Bacteria (strep in particular) can create a biofilm on the teeth and metablize sugar into lactic acid. The bio film is bad becuase it’s more long term and hard to remove so acid sits on the Enamel and dissolves it away. If it gets into the dentin the weaker part of the tooth dissolved away very fast.

Lastly osteoclasts and immune cells are closely related and when you get plaque (bacterial plaque, disgusting really) in your gums you fight it off with mast cells like normal but chronic presence of that inflammation in the alveolar bone causes osteoclasts like results in the bone with no blast to balance it and you end up dissolving the bone away and nothing holds your teeth in. Chronic periodontal disease.

Most people with lots of cavities don’t get periodontal disease. Most without cavities end up getting periodontal disease.
Plus it’s gross not to.
