Is it a good idea to major in physics and minor in computer science?

i did this (actually the minor turned into a second major). i then went to grad school for electrical engineering. i've been called an army of one, and i will never be for want of a job. it's a great combination OP

Yes. Because of

this. I went to aerospace though. Among engineers, you'll be the one-eyed among the blind quite literally.

NO

YES.
Physics for interest and because it'll make you much smarter than if you did CS
CS for employability

Should I double major?

Yes, computational physics is based and redpilled

Not him. I'd say it isn't necessary, but doing a few grad courses is super helpful. It depends on where you'd like to go though.
You can always start with a minor and see how it goes, then decide to major after that.

Nobody gives a shit if you took
>pre baby's first Java with python
>baby's first Java
>baby's first Java 2 because we go slow
>pre data structures and algorithms because our fail rates are too high even with curves and easy as shit material
>data structures and algorithms
>data structures and algorithms 2 because we go slow
>pre algorithm analysis
>discrete "math"
>discrete "math" 2 because we go slow
Anyone of value will learn this in a fraction of the time and order of magnitude more in depth without paying a cent

moocs and textbooks but it is a slower process and you must find a way to stay motivated

Yes, if I would've have been as retarded when i was 17, I would've done a math/physics major with a comp sci minor instead of Mech eng. (Or comp sci major with math/physics minor)

*wouldn't have been as retarded.

I guess I'm still retarded.

Current physics major here, I tried to do a comp sci minor but ended up switching to a dual math major instead. My advice would be, while it’s a great combination for employability and skill, it’s very time consuming as you have to balance learning to code data structures with higher level maths. Try it out for a year or two and once you hit data structures and/or mechanics see how you feel
