The Japanese are too small in number and isolated. Once the whites are gone there will be no one left to hold off the Chinese who will do pretty much whatever they like. Chinese are highly pragmatic and entertain no nonsensical ideas about equality. For all their other failings the Chinese do value education and technological progress. They also possess a centuries old cultural and political heritage which enables their people to focus national effort towards specific goal they want to achieve. This places them well situated to devote considerable resources to space exploration while fighting off planetary extinction.

The stars will be colonized, but not by any significant amount of European DNA.

They will most likely assimilate a few whites who flee from Brazil 2.0, 2.1, 2,2, etc. That is to say, whatever whites they deem worthy of saving, so whites with cutting edge expertise. A few thousands here and there. Like I said, they are pragmatists and they recognize value where it exists and where it suits their own needs.
