Obviously he was a midwit and had a great imagination which means he had the ability of abstract thinking but he miserably failed in math, what happened? Is motivation more important than IQ?

He has the hapsburg jaw. Also everybody's different anon, even field interests vary significantly between mathematicians themselves, way of thinking (geometrical or not), and research methodology. It's impossible to tell why one person is better at math than someone else, excluding intellectual disability or an exceedingly small number of other factors.

I always find amusing that, according to /sci/, the range 120-140 is midwit and <120 is literal retard

Calling myself a midwit feels good though. Makes me feel like not much is expected of me, and anything I accomplish actually feels like an achievement instead of the bare minimum.
