The cancellation of the Constellation program and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race

Of course. Who's mistake was it that all budget was spend on military?

>> No.12180013

Pretty pictures aren't real anon. The Constellation program 2005-2030: all funds sunk into shuttle derived launchers and orion capsule development.

>> No.12180901

Constellation deserved to be cancelled as was recommended by the Augustine commission.

>> No.12182446

The Augustine commission was wrong and was headed by a radical environmentalist who wanted to push NASA away from space travel

They can't even finish a rocket where literally all you do is slap some RS-25s on the bottom of a shuttle tank and a DCSS on top.

Ares I would still not be flying because they still wouldn't have finished J-2X.

Ares V would be targeting a first flight around 2028.

We are in a better timeline than that anon. Maybe a much better one.

Imagine if Constellation never got cancelled and Crew Dragon never went far because Congress mandated NASA can only fly astronauts on Ares I.
