Okay...you answered your own question. The state of existence in which we feel emotion is created by the mind. Are you arguing that the state of knowing it exists is itself the soul (In which case, how can you prove that animals have souls)? Or the emotion (essentially the effects of pheromones on an organism's "mind")?

Emotions are just electro-chemical states of our nervous system.

Just like programs on a computer are electrical states of the computer (or sometimes magnetic states too, if the program is stored on a magnetic storage medium, like a hard drive).
