Put your money where your mouth is and apply for a PhD program at a US institution, then, if you think your degree is so great.

Here, even if you complete everything the AP/IB programs had to offer, you only got to skip on average half a year (maybe a slightly more) worth of classes once you go to uni; most places don't offer spots in labs for undergrads PERIOD, besides basically hanging around observing/being a test tube janitor, making it extremely difficult to get any research done before getting a master's. This is because you're competing against grad students for spots in the labs and if they pick you over a grad, well you can pretty much assume that you got shoveled in as a big "fuck you" to some grad candidate who may have sounded a bit too arrogant in the interview. Even if you do get in 2 years and get your name in a paper, over here you still don't get a master's for that if you are still an undergrad... you'd just be an undergrad in an extremely good position for grad school, due to being able to pick up some awesome recommendations et cetera.

So anyway, what were you saying? A BS? In what? Have you completed 2 years of working/tutelage at a research lab yet? Guess what, if you did, that doesn't count here. Written a master's thesis or gotten your name in a peer-reviewed published paper yet? Yes? No? Most European countries subside university costs to much under 10000$. Moreover, given the difference in HS between Europe and US, most EU universities have more advanced undergrad courses and those planning to go post grad can apply for a 5 year undergrad+masters. This means less time and money invested which instead are used for more advanced studies in US.

That's not really true. Most American universities (especially research institutions) actually encourage undergrads to join labs to get experience and have undergraduate research organizations to foster this because they want to get people interested in lab work.

Wow. My parents were working class. Looking at them, I learned my lessons early on and took my education seriously. I'm attending an engineering university now, acing everything thrown my way while working and paying for living at the same time. When I graduate and get my job, it's going to feel so much more satisfying than the rich kid floating through their life on their parents' money. It'll be a lesson for my kids too.
