Depends how you're tracking it. The CDC does release estimated deaths during each cold/flu season, but most deaths are tracked by year.

So as I understand you don't clear the virus at least in on month but you are really just "infectious" in the first week. So of the 300 actives only 75 where infectious.
Now of those 75 for sake of simplicity the infectivity (Rx) happens during one day, so 2 weeks ago 10 people where infecting (the same if we do 300/30days = 10). One person become "infector" after one week of infection, but because we simplify to one day during that first week lets say it's on the 10th day of infection (7+7/2).
With Rx of 1: 10*1*2= 20
With Rx of 2: 10*2*2=40
With Rx of 3: 10*3*2=60
to pass from 300 active to 300 we need a Rx of 15
