I agree that it is stupid to plan on building another mega collider right now. The recent advances in plasma wakefield acceleration indicate that the next generation of colliders should be much smaller and reliant on the new non-magnet accelerator mechanism. Maybe two generations from now they can build another mega collider with the wakefield acceleration technology once that technology matures. It would be a bad idea, IMO, to start planning the wakefield mega accelerator in the infancy of wakefield acceleration.

I don't disagree that it's not a smart way to spend money, but neither is climate change as it also suffers from uncertainty. No one that talks about climate change ever offers solutions, all they do is whinge about mah funding.
You can't just throw give at something and expect the problem to go away, you need a viable plan.

An idea I had is to cover areas of useless Land and buildings in cities with a white or light coloured material, to increase Earth's albedo. Concrete and tarmac absorb heat, and glass only increases this by reflecting the radiation at those surfaces (downwards). It could be overcome by having some sort of white surface reflecting towards the sky.
Perhaps it could slightly overhang the roofs of skyscrapers, also creating shade for people below.

I only know 4chan racists, of which I am.
They all usually admit that races are connected clusters with objective genetic distance that separate them, and that they are genetically inferior in terms of intelligence only when considered as one group.
Adding the claims that the clusters are discrete with set boundaries and that there's no individual or sub-group that can show intelligence are strawmen invented by anti-racists to avoid answering to reasonable arguments for racism.

>> No.11822708

It isn't a strawman if I see it brought up every time someone argues about race.
I spent an hour just yesterday arguing with someone who said black people were a discrete group, races exist specifically as 'white' 'black' 'middle eastern' and 'asian', each of these groups having evolved independently enough to be considered strictly separate and black people specifically evolved to be less intelligent, and epigenetics is fake, made up science. racist claims do not have plausible deniability. they are not claims about averages. this is what makes them racist. everyone can tell when someone is speaking about averages, and when they're speaking about group essences.
