Does infinity exist?
Has anyone ever observed something infinite?

I am the only one spending infinity of timeon observing all that which is considered quantity or quantifiable.

No, and no. Infinity is an abstract notion used to describe objects that appear to have no upper bound in terms of the value used to describe it. This can be for example a coordinate in space, where the precision of the coordinate may be increased without reaching some sort of "end" value. It may also be used to describe things such as the theoretical size of the universe, since we are not able to observe an "end" (and it would make little sense for one to exist of course). It's important to note however that this notion is only useful for mathematical purposes. It is not something that we have "discovered". There exist formal mathematical proofs that infinity exist, but of course this is merely a mathematical proof based on axioms that don't necessarily have merit in reality.

>Does infinity exist?
In mathematics you give the name "infinity" to some mathematical object of your choice. It is clear that you neither like nor understand mathematics. So when you say "infinity", which kind of thing do you personally refer to?
>Has anyone ever observed something infinite?
The adjective "infinite" is used in mathematical parlor to refer to sets that are not finite. There are lots of those. You probably use the same word in a different sense, like "God is almighty and his wisdom is infinite" or similar crap. In which case how do you observe God's wisdom?

>> No.11770851

>>11770384
I am not that anon. But it is pretty easy to explain hyperreals from basic principle. Of course if starting from the reals in your view means to relate on "external sources", then you are just moving goalposts.

In your world, "infinity" is the same as the bogeyman who is always hiding under your bed, and who is never there when you peek? Is it a huge leap in your understanding to realize that this is not how the same notion gets used in math and science?

In what context are we talking about? You can take Peannos paradox or whatever it's called. When you walk a full meter you first walk half a meter, then half the next half a meter etc, this process continues infinitely but converges because the sum converges. It's a formal realization of infinity even though I would myself say it's contrived.
