I've studied calc 1-3, linear algebra, and statistics so far. Just when you thought you were going to learn something new I realize its just another way to solve geometry problems. every fucking time when does it end I feel cheated...

Like literally everything else you study now I think lmfao.

Want to avoid geometry? Study economics!

>> No.11757840

That's because so much of what you'll be working with can be easily modeled and explained with geometry, and thus has applications in geometry. It's not ABOUT geometry (usually), it's just a consequence

algebra >>> geometry

a mathematician that does not engage in geometry is officially named a "tranny"
do you want to be a tranny, anon?

Lol imagine not wanting to take the context of your math to a graphic environment

That’s just a different kind of geometry

please take some time to carefully analyze the connection between these posts. I think that in doing so you will come to a miraculous understanding.

Anon, sorry to break it to you, but everything is geometry. Literally. Everything can be thought of as a geometrical problem.

Basically this. "Unfortunately" what you are learning has applications in geometry, so you will at least touch on these applications.

no it does not

consider yourself lucky. instead of using symbolic algebra like we do nowadays, the ancient greeks cast all their problem geometrically, eg with ruler and compass. pretty crazy how deep the equivalences go, though it is tedious

Just because those mathematical methods have applucations in geometry does not mean they don't have uses elsewhere. Mathematical formulas are just tools. Tools have more than one use.

If you can put it on a graph, it means that geometrical analysis can be done with it. I really can't think of many things you can't put on a graph.

you can't graph love.

I can tell you never tried. Because when you do, and succeed, boi is that an experience.
