You can buy fractional shares but like with nearly anything you can't expect much profit without a serious investment. I started with 37 shares that I bought at $220 per share last year. I kept taking profit as the share price got really high and rebuying as it dropped. I sold everything just before Corona tanked the price. I now have 50 shares and $15,000 worth of profit that I'll use for other investments. Tesla could drop to zero and I would have still made 7k.

This is why ULA, Boeing, and others are struggling with the sheer volume of capability SpaceX brings to the table. Sure, it may take 1 month overall for SpaceX to potentially refurbish an F9 for a follow up launch. But that's a fraction of the <30M they'd pay for building a new booster, and the fact that this very same booster can fly up to 5 times (current rate till failure) means they're basically saving up to $150M per F9 built long-term. Each recovered F9 core has a significant actionable potential for Starlink: 300 satellites total to orbit or up to 78,000kg (across 5 missions) to LEO in ride sharing capability.

There's not a single launcher on the market that can offer that kind of a capability for the prices that SpaceX can do. Just think about it. NASA wants to deploy 5 parts for a space station in LEO that's a successor to the ISS (for example) on this rocket, and can launch up to 5 15,000kg (75,000kg cumulative) parts to LEO on the same rocket and pay ~200M for all of it or pay 2.5x that for an extra 23,000kg to orbit on a single SLS rocket (93T to LEO)--but without the flexibility of launching 5 modules with the same payload fairing.

The F9 booster is absolute marvel of a rocket and nothing short of phenomenal when it comes to continued access to space at low cost.

Oh yeah, we're now on June 4th. Ten years ago, today, the first F9 launched. Today is SpaceX's 10 year anniversary of the Falcon 9.

For today, they've launched astronauts to the ISS, recovered the NASA WORM booster, launched Starlink Mission 8 on a booster that flew 4 times before, and recovered said 5th mission booster successfully. That's a pretty big gift to give yourself for your 10th anniversary.

Maybe it's just me, but the deploy system seemed different this time

they actually showed it this time, it was probably the same
somebody go back and screenshot the views from the second stage of the payload stack

Yeah, I looked at the previous missions, and it definitely looks the same. Really wonder why they showed it this time

Yeah, because they were actually in sat coverage when it happened this time.

Saw the glow of stage 1 reentry burn. Too cloudy for anything else.

How far do they plan to push the falcons again? They should just keep launching it with a big "Boing btfo" decal printed on the side
