>400 years of scientific research later
>still don't know what we are supposed to eat
When will this be solved? Are humans carnivores? Herbivores? Omni? Is vegan healthier than keto? Is it okay to be feeding babies formula with 6 Tablespoons of sugar a day?

>> No.11731941

>>11731893
it’s a meme because it is literally all funded by people with an interest in manipulating the data, usually for significant government subsidies. They don’t have to make healthy food just convince you their food is healthy

>> No.11731982

>>11731941
It's so blatant. Nothing in nutrition Research can be trusted. Even the "micronutrients" the FDA says are daily requirements. People who eat straight meat don't lack vitamin C for some reason.

The only thing I am certain of is to not exceed in anything, there is no such thing as "[organ/immune system] boost", just try to strike for balance, never too much of anything.

Also this research is a bundle of fun.
https://www.sciencealert.com/everything-we-eat-both-causes-and-prevents-cancer

Also as I had the luck to be the intern in a research lab, I observed at how pointless or dangerous taking supplements can be, simply put each person has its own balance, everytime I met someone taking them, it was either not enough that the problem was still there or too much.

On top of that it’s fucking exceedingly hard to control variables even without hidden variables.

Usually when something is called a "boost" it means you dont have enough of it.

Like, people started to say during this COVID thing "vitamin D is a immune system booster you need it". That is mostly correct, because most of the population has vitamin D deficiency (like 60-70% of usa)

how and why is it dangerous?

>> No.11732050

Not only that, the controlling they do is just pseudoscience hidden behind complex calculations. They use linear regression, which assumes that the variables they control for are:
1. Independent of each other.
2. Linear in their correlation.
Both of which is usually wrong.

But we already know what to eat.

>fish rich in omega fatty acids but low in mercury concentration
>food rich in vitamin A, B, C, D, E, K primarily vegetables, nuts and milk
>weekly intake of iodine, iron and zinc
>weekly intake non-processed meat and grain

Everything else is optional.

Well is just the usual stuff we luckily know, like say, too much vitamin C and you get diarrhea which unfortunately I know myself as I went a month drinking 100% orange juice, is just stuff you can find probably on Wiki, problem is a medic hazarding a diagnosis or someone making a presumption that they are lacking X or how someone might take a certain supplement and still have troubles because they are treating only the symptoms not the underlying causes, you might have someone with cramps, so they take Calcium but then they still have them because they did not take vitamin D with it, or maybe they do but is ineffective because their kidneys are a mess (I actually know a guy's GF who has Hypoparathyroidism, has cramps, underlying heart problems and ruined her kidneys with alcohol abuse, hopefully the experimental treatment she is following will prevent a cardiac arrest).

Shit's complicated, I think selling certain stuff endangers people.

aha, so you are saying we should be very careful with our diets. now I understand why doctors are worried about people taking supplements (vitamins D) for the covid thing... people are fucking retarded and think taking them at any moment will help them when they fall ill

In a nutshell from what I am learning, is that all this boosting and being some kind of superman because you ate X or Y seem to be rather pretentious when most of us are likely missing or exceeding with certain elements.

I probably sound confusing, but I see too often people trying to trivialize a problem into "you are just missing X", is because I am lucky that I am witness what happens when you can analyze someone's relation with their "components" so to speak, whether they have a lack of excess of them, I hope these sort of machines get out of the lab and become more mainstream.

As a side note I am more worried about the long term effect of an overuse of bacteria killing soap might have on them.

the only reference you made in your argument was to dr baker, hence your argument is a fallacious appeal to authority
