Recommend some cool stuff to look at under a microscope
I have the microscope in pic and haven't used it in a while, was wondering what I could look at with it. Try to recommend stuff you can find fairly easily

It has 4x, 10x, 40x and 100x lens on it. I also have a green disc thing that might be a polarization filter, a camera eye piece, and two 10x and 20x eye peices.

nah that's probably something for conditioning the light, not a polarizer.

pollen's cool to look at under the scope, you can pull algae and plankton out of any natural body of water

walked up to a random flower, this is what pollen looks like? I could've sworn it was more ball shaped
Also sorry for the shit quality, it looks way clearer with the other eye pieces but this is the only camera peice i have

fuck guys, just "killed" a tiny fly and put it under the scope. I was trying to get to good angle with my flashlight to post a pic of it, but it suddenly flinched and freaked me out, then it stood up and started walking inside of my microscope. I have no idea where it is now.

pollen shape and size can vary from species to species, and it can get wild.

also yeah that looks like pollen to me. Also, one trick i've used in the past is to hold my phone's camera up to the eyepiece. it's not a scientific-grade sensor but it'll give you way prettier pictures than a camera that truly integrates with the scope

pic related, it's a picture of bacterial biofilm i took with my phone through the eyepiece

I got this dissecting microscope out of the trash at my university and it works perfectly fine

If you have phelgm or a tooth scraper you could see the cells in mucus or teeth bacteria

For further inquiry, I recommend two websites, Microbehunter, a forum and Microscopy UK, a UK based amateur microscopy magazine

Finally, new no-name microscopes are inferior to well used scopes of brands like Zeiss,Leica,Olympus, etc. You can find many German sites but a site in English is photomacrography.net, a photomacrography board with a selling forum.

3D Movie Filter Lens when crossed together form a polarizer. You could then dissolve common medication with water and ethanol to make beautiful crystals.

Depends on what optics you have. Most fun thing, in my opinion, is pondwater/ flushed moss. Small insects with largely opaque carapaces are interesting too. Small eggs (have seen some of the weirdest, alien-looking abominations this way) and swabs of random gunk laying about. Hand lenses can be just as fun when looking at larger plants and animals. Transmitted vs reflected light, different filters, etc. all change what looks good/ is viewable.
