Is psychology really pseudoscience?

Yes and No. I'd say for the most part yes it is. Neuroscience is more of a science than psychology.

Much of it is, but there exist some good works.

Science is all about studying nature in order to make educated guesses as to why nature behaves like it does. Psychology is the study of the human mind in an attempt to understand how it works. Psychology is a science, perhaps not as "pure" as some of the elitists on here would perfer, but a science nonetheless. Or I suppose it depends on whether you'd classify the human mind a part of nature. And I suppose the answer to that proposition is fairly obvious to anyone with a brain.

Psychology has a lot of content that falls within the traditional demarcation of science and non-science as empirical and non-empirical. However, most of it's significance comes from the science that dips into the non-empirical side of things. That doesn't make it woo woo mysticism, it just begins with different starting points. Science is probably the most esoteric field to ever exist for humans, especially hard sciences like physics.
