To calculate the death rate you take the number of deaths divided by the sum of the number of deaths and the number of recovers. This is how you calculate the death rate you morons!

Normies seem to not grasp this, and just brush it off like

I got in an argument with my co-workers, they kept insisting that the number of recovers is irrelevant and that death rate is defined by the number of deaths divided by total number of infected (absolutely retarded).

case fatality rate = deaths/cases

mortality rate = deaths/total infected

total infected can't be measured well because the majority aren't symptomatic

You are brainlet yourself. You are calculating the mortality rate without taking into account if the medical system is overwhelmed or not. Percentage of critical cases is much more important than the dead ones. It paints a picture of the worst case scenario, which avoiding is the whole reason for the extreme measures.
