Not the person you replied to but kurgezagt has given up with objective useful learning and has become popsci and overblown everything out of proportion like journalists even for their scientific topics. The immune system video was great when I was younger and learning, but now videos like CRISPR where they act like it’s a miracle that can do no wrong and never explain other methods of genetic modification are useless.

Some great channels if you are interested in people who actually use what they are talking about:
>the thought emporium
Cringe name but he does biological experiments and explains everything in great detail, plus other random projects. He’s done videos like growing Muscle cells in fruit collagen structures and modifying genetics to glow. His current project is growing neurons and reading their signals.
> Applied Science
Has lots of random videos where he makes things or tests concepts that are mentioned a lot but rarely shown. He built his own CT scanner and Electron Microscope, as well as custom LCDs for the Apollo computer restoration.

Him and his chad friend Ben Eater are great explainers. I do wish 3b1b would go faster to explain the entire concept first then go into details because he always asks the audience to hold on and that it will all make sense every 10 seconds. Solid channel though.

Thunderfoots video about the dangers of molten aluminum and water was dumb. He thinks it's not simply due to steam expansion, yet he was unable to replicate the phenomenon on the small scale and blamed it on metal oxides. Eh, maybe I can sort of see what they're saying. To anyone who knows about the subject prior can usually spot a lot of the inaccuracies or caveats, but if you view it as just something for laypeople it isn't all that bad really. Like his chaos theory stuff, really bare bones, misses a lot of key details, but it goes in more depth than people are usually exposed to and maybe that's a good thing. Though to be fair, scientific literacy has plummeted and the only god tier docs left are those made in the 70 and 80s, maybe in the 90s too.

At least some of the time he gets shocked is fake, for comedic effect. For instance, go frame-by-frame on his "electric guitar" video and you see pic related, which is obviously fake.

Now, of course I wouldn't expect him to actually subject himself to that "electric guitar"... or maybe he did but he spruced up the video a little bit with effects. Either way I don't really care, it's legitimately entertaining content.
