It's a great degree, and lots of flexibility if you want to have more Maths or more Philosophy. Also shows you're well rounded, I've been told employers will love that, but I just do it because I love both and there is lots of interesting stuff inbetween.

Also, I can choose whether I want an Arts degree or a Science Degree (Obviosuly it will be Science), it doesn't matter if I do 75% Philosphy and 25% Maths, as long as I do the core Math modules I can call it a Science degree. May well come in handy if times get hard.

Oh, and you also get the fun of complaining with your Math buddy's about the ridiculous amount of assignments you get, and complain with your Philosphy buddy's about the ridiculous amount of Essays you get.

It's hard work, but it's a very enjoyable degree. In my year there are only 4 of us doing it, not many people have even ever heard of it, but the vast majority of Math students I know always say the same thing, "Damn, why didn't I do that degree!"

The problem with doing one or the other is that I won't have full semesters without taking random bullshit classes. I've taken almost all of my core classes, so I'm left with just major courses, and of course my school is dildos and only offers each course once per year. Example: if I were to drop AE, I'd be at 10 hours for this coming semester, and there's nothing relevant I could pick up, and simply minoring in something isn't that appealing to me. If I'm going to be taking extra hours, I might as well tack on another semester or two and just get a double major. As it stands, I'll be graduating in spring 2013 with both degrees instead of spring 2012 with one degree and starting grad school for Nuclear in fall 2013 (already accepted). As per the jobs...I'm calling bullshit, considering I have an internship, I have applied for more than a few internships that are pertinent to both fields simultaneously (be creative here, it is more than possible for the majors to overlap), and people I talk to in industry get ridiculous chubs when they hear "AE/NRE." I'd be willing to consider the legitimacy of your claim if you could provide any evidence backing it.
