This thread is extremely important to me so please reply seriously.

There is a future society that has the technology to create massive numbers of people and torture them. Anybody can create trillions of people and torture them trivially. They can prevent this by scanning everybody with scanners and running a human level AI algorithm that detects when people are going to torture people and automatically detaining the person. I call this algorithm "Coba."

Can you find a reason for people to not use coba? Would you support coba to prevent torture?

So basically 'in oversight we trust'? Oversight is 'always' there. There has to be some observer of behavior/actions as we do not exist in a pure vacuum.

Assuming that Coba is 100% correct, it would be hard to pass

However knowing that there will be problems in terms of people's privacy, and the fact that it could be faked by people in power/authorities or maybe even other citizens committing crimes using Coba.... many people will be falsely accused in that situation.

keep in mind china also exists

since Coba was made by humans, couldn't it also be altered by humans/fakes could be made that have a similar but altered function?
a fake would simply ruin society. residents who want to commit crimes would just somehow use the fake algorithm to flag someone they have a grudge on.

There could be many holes and loops that could ruin the whole idea of Coba. But i like where you're going with this

is it supposed to be for a book? a game? are you making something interesting?
