https://nutritionfacts.org/topics/tuna/
>The mercury in tuna may damage the brains of infants, children, and adults more than the mercury in vaccinations, amalgam teeth fillings, high-fructose corn syrup and Ayervedic supplements.
>Tuna may also contain DDT, PCB pollutants, and the carcinogens benzene and putrescine.
>Tuna sushi may contain fecal contamination in amounts exceeding National Food Standards guidelines.
>A toxin in tuna has even been found to cause a form of amnesia.
>Protein from tuna and other animal sources may negatively affect kidney function.
>Tuna ranks among the most acid-producing foods, which can be associated with the formation of kidney stones.
Is tuna really THAT shitty? I refuse to believe that the negative aspects of tuna outweigh the positive ones so much
What other foods are also this bad?

>more than the mercury in vaccinations
I thought this was obvious given the ethyl vs methyl mercury differences. Generally though you'll be fine so long as you're a man and you don't use it as your primary source of protein. Wouldn't recommend it if you're breastfeeding or pregnant though, and the half life is like 50 days.

metals found naturally in seafood are different molecules to those man-made, like in vaccines.
the lie is that they have equal effects on the body. i'd bet the natural mercury isn't bad for you

>Is tuna really THAT shitty?

Yes, technically it is. The larger the fish, the more likely it contains high amounts of mercury.

https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine/2014/10/can-eating-the-wrong-fish-put-you-at-higher-risk-for-mercury-exposure/index.htm

>Mercury levels in the northern Pacific Ocean have risen about 30 percent over the past 20 years and are expected to rise by 50 percent more by 2050 as industrial mercury emissions increase, according to a 2009 study led by researchers at the U.S. Geological Survey and Harvard University.
>Mercury-containing plants and tiny animals are eaten by smaller fish that are then gobbled up by larger fish, whose tissue accumulates mercury. That’s why larger, longer-living predators such as sharks and swordfish tend to have more of the toxin than smaller fish such as sardines, sole, and trout.
>In comments submitted to federal health officials earlier this year, a group of scientists and policy analysts pointed out that a 6-ounce serving of salmon contains about 4 micrograms of mercury vs. 60 micrograms for the same portion of canned albacore tuna—and 170 micrograms for swordfish.

>I refuse to believe that the negative aspects of tuna outweigh the positive ones so much

The problem is that to get the most out of the positive aspects of tuna you would need to moderate consumption of it. Have a high body weight relative to consumption depending on the type of Tuna. And not go overboard because of trace mercury left in your blood that would require detoxing if it gets too high.
