Honestly, I've had female friends but since I don;t bother to have friends or socialize in general, inevitably, since the interactions continued some level of romantic and sexual tension developed.

I'm not sure if there is any pairing or types by which it can remain platonic or passively flirtatious, and a friendship, long term. I just don't think the dynamic and basis for interaction, mutual drives, exists. Only fear of loss and change can stave off romance, but here still, it's a conscious decision to suppress the desire to try out the whole pairing thing.

Men and women can't be friends. Not because they will develop attraction, but because women can't be friends with anyone. They don't understand friendship.

Define friend. I think we tend to think of friends as people we interact with frequently and enjoy being around / working with, but don't want to be sexual with. There are many types of friendship. Essentially I'm saying I don't think men and women can be friends, in the sense of frequent or more intimate (there's that word) discussions, without either disinterest or repulsion, or stronger attachment, forming. From attachment comes mutual care and concern, which is a form of intimacy.

Eh, whatever. It really depends on the framework the interaction is taking place in as well. Hence the concept of a "work wife", an interaction in the workplace which doesn't extend much beyond. Many variations. Can't see a reason to answer beyond to say the range at which you'll have a stable long term friendship is small, can't expect to have a male friendship with a woman. Perhaps like that poster above said, women don't seem to natively understand honor or comradery and don't build social structures along these lines, therefore their notion of friendship is as they say, "tend and befriend" (and backstab, maneuver, control the flow of resources, dominate and abuse other women, etc).

yes. I think it's rare tho. there's like 3 women I can think of where we both prefer to be friends. I listen to their problems/gossip and they get me high. I'm not normal tho. I spend way to much time with gay misogynists.

Why would I want a woman as a friend? Women are retarded and only good for a quick fuck and chuck.
