Ive always wanted to see what would happen if I gave an orangutan a high protein diet consisting of cooked meat and psychedelic mushrooms to see if I could enlighten the species

I need to buy at least 12 orangutans for my experiment. The tribe of enlightened orangutans. I would place many tools and things in the area and their diet would be high protein cooked meats with veggies of course. 2 times a year I would place the mushrooms with them or try to mix it into their meals and see the results. I could prove or disprove one of the theories on how early humans got smart which is either cooked meat which made them big brain or magix mushrooms. This would of course go on for some generations. Each generation we would see if their brain size increased.

Don't do chimps, they are energetic and lack focus. Orangutangs are clever and laidback.

Any increase due to diet won't be inherited.

It was probably fat and not meat that led to bigger brains.

an increase would only be inherited if those with larger brain mass potential benefitted more from the improved diet and had more descendents

>larger brain mass potential benefitted more from the improved diet
Larger brain mass=higher energy requirement for upkeep. Improving the diet would remove at least one potential factor selecting against increased brain mass.
