Is it possible to instill discipline in to ones self? Scientifically speaking? How does one that does not possess this trait practice it? Intelligence is wasted without discipline. How is idolness such an accepted state?

Just hire personal coach/trainer/educator or someone who will watch over you for at least 10 hours a day and will start shouting/screaming if you dont do want you are supposed to (better look for a guy with military experience). Obviously you have to be rich to afford someone like that.
But this is how rich people, royalty etc are raised. Most are just as useless as common folk but when there is someone constantly helping them out and teaching and motivating them then they grow up with exeptional skills, knowledge and experience.

Interesting concept. I might be to corrupted for such things. I think a wife would make me work much harder. But i want one who will support me if i decide to pack up and move somewhere. Make me work harder but not require constant attention.

I've been thinking of this but acting as my own master because i am poor. Pain is supposed to be a very effective way to end poor behavior and encorage good habits. If not a shock collar than maybye slapping.

smoke a cigarette every time you do something disciplined

I think you need to have a slave mentality in order to be disciplined: if you're your own master, your wishes are your commands, you're going to do whatever you feel like in the moment without accomplishing anything significant. For religious people God as the master ordering them to work helps them keep discipline.

Honestly it would probably be pretty easy for most of the users here to do well academically if we just put the computer away.

Honestly, taking Modafinil seems to do the trick for me, What's funny is that if you do it for a week or two, even the days I don't take modafinil I still study out of habit and the curiosity momentum developed through the many hours going over the material, which naturally raises up questions.

TL:DR I support drug consumption.
