pure maths is really cool but i also like some applied maths subjects esp. everything that has to do with dynamical systems!! why does it have to be one or the other
also im starting to feel like a retard bc i barely know how to code i kinda want to learn more about how computers work desu

Go Pure maths. Don't let the CS retards drag you down. You're going to be unemployed either way

>You're going to be unemployed either way
lmao, this
pajeets have taken over a long time ago, now it really doesn't matter what you study, either you're a minority or you're not, this pretty much decides your life outcomes

Well I was serious about going pure maths. Studieing CS is really great if you want to lern about stupid models that have little to no application in the real world. Maths is at the very least consistent with it self, so a lot less infuriating to study

I'm about to finish my pure math MS and I think half the classes I've taken are offered in the applied program. Don't worry about it, just make a choice and stick with it

Pure math if you're smart enough to consider applying yourself a soft skill.

i'm in the same position as you right now, so i think i can offer some insight: after talking with my major advisor and other profs, the consensus was pick what YOU love, you get one life, don't waste it on something you don't like just to try and land a job, you'll get a job either way, just pick what you love and go for it

appliead math msc if you have low iq
pure math - mediocre iq
cs - high iq

Unless you're planning academia, no job will give two shits which you have, they'll only care it says "math" and "phd" (and even then, not necessarily the math part).

Signed,
a cell biology phd with a statistical modeling job

Why not all 3?
Automated theorem proving or proof assistants will become big as soon as somebody finds a critical failure in a heavily cited piece of mathematics.
Computer verification of proofs will become the gold standard.
