During my engineering days, I used to believe that everyone could do it, and it was just a matter of practice. But the more I delve into analysis and proofs the more I realise that there's a limit practice can get you.

Both my parents suck at math. Mom is a physician with barely middle school level math, dad failed calc/math courses several times but managed to do it after working hard. And despite both of them not being particularly gifted, I myself brief through my calculus coursework in a pretty good university.

You’re drawing from personal experience to make an incorrect inference, talented mathematicians have no trouble with their coursework as undergraduates, many of them complete their BS before 22. People who grind for grades are a level below those who stroll through difficult classes with the same GPA. You have to consider that there are probably others innately superior to you at certain tasks and that they do not put the same amount of time into performing the coursework that you did in spite of their performance matching or exceeding yours. I don’t know how any sane adult can deny that there is great variation in ability and that this often implies some people are bad at something no matter the effort and others are transcendent masters who do not need to slave away at building fundamental skills.
>is this from experience
Yes. But, experience is not worth much, read biographies of famous scientists and mathematicians; many overcome social and familial struggle but still many are described by all those who knew them as gifted, and many report themselves not needing to waste time on what they perceived as trivialities. Feynman worked through an advanced Calculus text by himself in highschool, Green self taught analysis while he was bored managing his father’s business, Banach literally sat in on lectures and was able to engage a university professor about his research totally untrained by mathematicians. No, I'm advocating for you to stop being a pathetic whining bitch.

There are people in the world with massive shortcomings in life, massive disabilities, and yet they don't let that get in the way of their life.

Look at Stephen Hawking, did that guy complain about his shit genetics? No he fucking well didn't, he made a fucking success of himself, which you could do if you stopped whinging like a child.

Another example would be Fredrick Brennan, a.k.a. Hotwheels, who made infinite chan. Did he let his disability hold him back? No, he made something online that had value for other people. Then when it became something he didn't like, he walked away. But he is still living his goddamn life. He moved to the Philippines and now apparently he makes fonts. He's had girlfriends and got laid.

You should realise, as most people eventually do, that there is no value in crying over spilt milk. And even if you think your life is so shit and your genes are so shit, there are tons of people with worse genes than yours. So maybe you should start thinking about what you CAN do in life rather than what you CAN'T do. And also you should realise that there are so many things that every one of us thinks we can't do, until we start believing in ourselves and give it a shot. Everybody in life will try and beat you down, because they're competing with you. Kids at school will try and make you think that you're not as strong as them, not as tough as them, and you can't get the girls that they can, because THEY WANT THOSE GIRLS, and they want the good jobs in life, and all that shit. So it's your job to say no, fuck you, I'm going to prove you wrong.

The overall IQ might be going down, but remember that despite low TFRs there are mathematicians and physicists who have both parents at top levels in the same field and might just end up mating with someone else just like them. I would have struggled to understand the properties of the Fourier transform if it wasn't for actually using it and seeing what it does to functions. Even in classes you can get an edge by not just memorising some textbook stuff but rather trying some stuff. Messing around with a graphing calculator is a good start.

But since I'm a brainlet, the stuff I learned from the groups and tutoriums didn't helped shit and I failed everything several times.

Like I stated: high IQ or nothing. But let me backpedal a bit, if you have a vagina, you can also get a high degree even if you are dumb as a rock, since orbiter explain her every single detail and gave her the optimal cheat method.

You need a certain degree of talent to be a great mathematician, but hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. The problem is even the smartest people have to struggle. All the people that are brilliant at math were smart to begin with, yes, but they also worked their asses off.

I had this eugenicist worldview and it almost caused me to fail out of my math degree because I thought everyone was a genius such that everything came naturally to them. Not true.
