This was made in the 50's as their vision for the future (of space).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXIDFx74aSY

With your knowledge of today and current/upcoming tech, how do you guess the future of technology and space exploration works and visually looks like?

>> No.11300485

space isn't that exciting. why does /sci/ never talk about anything interesting? it's space, iq, and memes. i hate it.

It's hard to say specifically, but I guess that there will be a strong focus on refining reusable rockets to bring down the cost to go to space as that's a huge limiting factor. Expect more Starship-like rockets. Space industry will most likely focus on water ISRU as that's the easiest to obtain. The rest? IDK. That's alot of unkowns.

Very much dependent on how far into the future you're looking into, and what mission is the spacecraft expected to complete.

not so far in the future that the design would be unrecognizable. More like Mars and Moon base building era and perhaps whatever comes after.

as far as discussion topics, i think cognitive psychology and psychological conditioning are interesting, and we don't hear a lot about them here. yeah, yeah "hurr durr not science". i think you can afford to broaden your definition just slightly since most threads here are bullshit anyway.

All these rules are too strict (literal) nowadays but it's not like mods or anyone else care. It's like jannies and mods themselves hate 4chan more than anyone but I digress.
I think what killed 4chan was this witchhunt on "ironic shitposting," stifling all creativity and leaving behind only the most generic, bland and inoffensive posts and there is nothing more bland than talking about the futile goal of colonizing space.

>how do you guess the future of technology and space exploration works and visually looks like?
It will look much like today. In fact, due to the internet and instantly accessed world culture, all culture, fads, and related things are now starting to merge and stagnate. As a result, less technological progress is needed. All consumer product designs can be recycled as "new & innovative!" several times a generation now.

As for space exploration. It won't move forward very much. We may land people on Mars or where ever, but it simply won't matter at all. Just like landing on the moon didn't matter. Turns out that it is just popsci garbage & grant farming in the end.

Why? Because, no one wants to spend the cash to do something real.
