Hey /sci/
Since you guys are so "smart"
and know for 110% that your spinning mach 1 right now riddle me this:
Hows come I can see Isle of man from blackpool? mhm? according to your spherical trigonometry it should be almost 1km below the horizon based on 8'' of curvature per mile squared.

the distance is roughly 100km

Anon, what is gravity?

You shouldn't think in terms of distance. Think in terms of angle degrees. The Earth rotates 360 degrees in 24 hours. That's 15 degrees per hour. Put some ants and bugs on the merry go round and make it spin 15 degrees per hour and tell me if the ants and bugs etc. fall off.

anon, can you explain to me with your own words what gravity is?

Also if you were well versed you would understand the difference bewteen centrifugal and centripetal force.

When you are at the center of a marry-go-round or carousel you experience the least amount of force. Consequently if your on the outer edge of said carousel you experience the most of the force.

Now you have 2 options.
let your pride and ego convince you down is up

or listen to what i am saying and do your own research and you will see it is rational and congruent to our sense and our physical observations everyday.

Or just believe whatever you want i honestly dont care.

Can you provide me the experiment that conclusively proves our world is rotating on its axis?

Because I have many experiment that say it isnt. Repeatable and verifiable experiments that have yet to be refuted to this day.

Michelson-Morley
Sagnac experiments

That calculation is wrong. If you draw a diagram and note what that actually calculates you'll see that while it is a measure of the Earth's curvature it is not a measure of the size of objects that you can see around a curve.

The red quantity grows as 8 inch per mile squared over short distances, but obviously if you want to know what is visible you should be calculating is the blue quantity. The fact that nobody in the FE community has spotted this after all these years is a real testament to their education.

That’s the wrong equation.
