I wonder about this too, judging by the initial images people were posting the satellites ended up with some inconsistent spacing, maybe they've evened out since then but I haven't checked. I'd presume if the spacing stayed inconsistent, they'd attempt to space them out better on the second run. I'd like more info in any case, if anyone has any, I'm just shooting in the dark here.

I wonder if as the starlink satellite density increases we'll get to keep live communication with launch vehicles for longer. And I was about to write how it would be neat to see some kind of visualization of where the other sats are relative to the launch stages, but I realized one of the hosts mentioned that the position data should be available to astronomers, assuming orbiting trajectories and depending on how much info they release it shouldn't be too hard to make one myself.

looks like something in the foreground is being illuminated by the second stage (that's where the light is coming from, right?)

>that's where the light is coming from, right?
I don't think so, watch that area in the webm, it looks like a lightning storm in the clouds to me.
it happens throughout the entire clip, even after the 2nd stage has stopped lighting the 1st stage.

Surprisingly, asat kinetic weapons can send fragments to higher orbits, even if the target was in LEO and the interceptor was suborbital. For example for the Indian ASAT test: https://twitter.com/marco_langbroek/status/1124218799815831552?lang=en
Of course the periapsis can't be higher than the original orbit, but some of the debris for this test are still there

>> No.11284891

>>11284868
the perigee will still be low in the atmosphere
any new orbit MUST pass through the location where the orbit was changed
