While I agree with the progression of science and humanity, his impulsive actions were not necessarily the most optimal way to achieve that. In fact, with the abundance of lukewarm IQ in politics, it might've slowed the progression of research. Scientists are fearful that gene-editing technologies, if abused, will go the way of GMOs and be outlawed for political or irrational reasons before their true potential can be realized.
