There are some voidspots in the universe anon, like the Bootes void, Giant Void, CMB cold spot etc. The only reasons we don't see any life or graveyards and no sings of artificially things is because the distance is too fucking big in the universe, pic related, that's only the Milky way, there are estimated to contain 100–400 billion stars in this galaxy alone. So if we really want to find life and conquer this galaxy, we need FTL travel.

>> No.11252283

Does anyone else find it embatassing when Popsci fags start going on about interstellar travel? These manchildren are so fucking uneducated that they don't realize even our nearest galaxy is MILLIONS of years away traveling AT C.

Why are popsci fags so fucking illiterate? We will never discover other advanced life in the universe because the universe is incomprehensibly big. Even our own neighborhood, the milky way, is so incredibly big that we'd be lucky if we explored just 1% of it.

Interstellar travel is a pipe dream. Intergalactic travel is literally impossible. This is why there is zero evidence of type 3 or 4 civilizations.

Brainlet post. Advanced civilizations would operate on the timescales of millions of years. So you do not need FTL to spread all over the galaxy, just lots of time, of which there is no shortage. And such civilization should likely be visible right now, assuming they build any Dyson swarms or megastructures that alter the light of stars. Heck, they ought to be right here by now if they are from this galaxy group.

you are legitimately retarded. the closest habitable planet is 12 light years. the fastest speed achieved by humans is 0.0037% C and that wasn't sustained for a long period.
the biggest challenge to any speed that wouldn't take millions of years is energy. the amount of energy needed to accelerate only 1 kg of mass into only 1% of C in total vacuum (true vacuum doesn't exist) would take around 9^12j. if you still can't see the problem with this, the most energy dense feasible energy is uranium-235 which produces 8^13j per kg which is 305kg surplus per kg of uranium, add in the weight of the reactor, the ship, etc and i guess you can see what is the problem. that is a perfect scenario and in reality it's way worse than that.
other forms of energy? antimatter is impossible to contain, it's impossible to transform mass into energy, it's impossible to have 100% efficiency, there is no negative mass or energy meaning Alcubierre drive is impossible, uranium is limited and all of the new discoveries being made are proving that it's more difficult than we imagined.

Yes. IMHO it gets even more obvious when you look at mathematics from where that idea came.

The equation has negative and positive solution. That doesn't mean there is universe on the other side. That's just physically irrational mathematical artifact and more likely has much more simpler physical manifestation.

A simple equivalent is light bulb. It doesn't matter what direction you pass the current trough it, it always outputs the same positive power. So even if P=U*I and due to your topology I=-1A it's physically irrational to speculate that the bulb will produce negative power and e.g. consume light.
