I read a lot about how fragile our eco-system is but it seems to be sustaining. I mean, when things start to become scarce in grocery stores is when i'll start to worry. I've been reading about how bad the sardine population is in the oceans for years yet they are always in stock. I've been reading about the honey bees dying for years yet the store is flooded with awesome honey all year round. When the hell are we gonna have to start to worry about food and water?

The day our fishing methods stop getting better, of course fish stocks are depleted, but we just keep developing new methods to fish out the depleted stock.

Also honeybees are not what people are talking about. When "bees dying out" is said, people are usually referring to native bumble bee populations in North America, which do not produce honey combs for humans, or they are not "Overwintering" species.

To explain a little more, we've started to fish in deeper waters for longer periods to extract more fish than what would normally be possible.

Also, native bumble bees account for the vast majority of our crop pollination, as opposed to honey bees.

Well "regulation" is a harsh word, they're really more like "guidelines" that countries like China, Australia, Britain and Japan will or won't follow, given their track record. What's really bad is jellyfish blooms, Japan's fishing season a few years back got decimated by the stuff, I'm sure sushi restaurants will switch from serving stuff like tuna and shark to jellyfish.

Yeah. But certain kind of people/countries dont give a crap. In the responsible places, the small businesses had to make way for industry.

The problem anon is by the time it becomes a problem for the supermarket it's pretty much too late. Unless it's a gradual price increase. That said I share in your concern about chicken littles, given their solutions invariably start to stink as they involve accruing massive amounts of power in the hands of fewer and fewer people, infringing on national sovereignty and seeking to do a revolutionary change of the status quo well beyond food. This isn't tinfoil hat shit because extinction rebellion has come out and explicitly said this - that it's not just about food/environment but the entire [insert pseudointellectual noise words]. A study of human history should make one incredibly averse to anyone trying to achieve revolutionary change NOW. It has never fucking worked out well, not ever. The one that does spook me is the whole Methane business given that sounds less like "Co2 rises, temperatures increase and life gets harder at the equator with more volatile weather but not apocalyptic" and more legit apocalyptic. I expect gradual change that will adjust/adapt to greater CO2 emission climate change but can't exactly adapt to methane drops everybody dies.
