Realistically, what will replace oil for fueling cars?

>> No.1124388

Cars will become obsolete by the 22nd century, we'll all be riding in AI-controlled hovering vehicles wirelessly powered.

>> No.1124387

semen

FUCKIN MAGNETS?

Maybe in the future, but realistically, probably ethanol, fuel cells and batteries.

Water. Called it.

what will power the hovering vehicles?

>> No.1124433

no way will ethanol replace it unless the government mandates it

Cold fusion.

>> No.1124446

in a near future, biodiesel could

>> No.1124450

Honestly, why can't we just perfect better steam engines?

the only derp is your own

Electricity, with batteries becoming more efficient. Assuming nuclear power becomes the main source of energy, you will be able to run your car cheaply from cleanly produced electricity.

>> No.1124488

In the near near future? I would say natural Gas seeing as how its the cleanest replacement that has been proven to work just as effectively. People don't push enough for the really Green fuels

>> No.1124489

>>1124471

oil does not fuel vehicles. gasoline does. derp.

>> No.1124493

>>1124479
this. also maybe algae biofuel in the meanwhile. and geothermal plus nuclear for power

ummm Op... it's in the picture you posted.

Obviously leaves will be the next major fuel.

nuclear at this point is becoming cheaper than oil, when we have to go miles and miles offshore to drill 5000 feet deep, and risk killing dozens of men and countless specimens of sea life

Why not go one step closer to nature and go with photolysis?

water is not a fuel, fool

we are only going that far away because the goverment is preventing us from drilling in far safer places that are closer to a politicians house.

still oil is much cheaper than nuclear power, but nuclear is a bit superior to green energy
