Gentlemen. How do we build TIE fighters?

Why?

why not?

I know OP

you take one Ion propulsion engine, make another, and then put i on the back end of a sphere
???
TIE FIGHTER

how do i make an ion pulse engine?

iunno, but im pretty sure we have them already

>> No.1118443

Well the government already has a secret colony on the Moon and scouting outposts on Mars, so we could ask to borrow one of their reverse-engineered alien ships.

its a ti fighter shooting an x-wing

looks more like the x wing is shooting the tie fighter...tie fighters can't shoot out of the side of their wing

EASY!!

We could do it with existing hardware that's already been built!

You need 8 International Space Station Trusses with the solar panels.

1 SNAP 1960s portable orbital nuclear reactors.

2 MTHEL Mobile Tactical High Energy Lasers invented in 2000

1 Copola Module already on the ISS as the fighter cocpit

2 Vasimir engines (ion engines)

Then it is a Twin Ion Engine or TIE and it can shoot lasers so it is a TIE fighter

Please insert 15 billion dollars :)

Next to the main VASIMR we should put two or four (For symmetry) MPDs just to get extra thrust and higher acceleration.

I suggest we use ceramics and Carbon compounds for the ship itself and some ultralight thingee for the windows.

I would remove the windows, put a camera, and a screen inside, but it HAS to have windows, so they need to be think and have a filter for radiation and such.

I don't think space warfare is very nice.
Why don't we build asteroid mining vessels instead? No reason why you couldn't use the lasers for military use also ;)

The copola module already has many HD cameras and it has robotically closeable and openable hatches so you can shut them if the sun gets too bright.

Oh and it isn't a single Government that has a base on the moon, its Governmentsssssss

Its a secret joint international effort. Whilst Cape Canaveral and Baikonur build the ISS...

Vandenburg, Area 51 and Plesetsk Cosmodrome built the dark side complex. It was mainly build from spent SivB boosters from the apollo program refurbished into pressurised homes, similar to the skylab program.

They had the moon base on the drawing board in the 50s with Project Horizon
