Privacy has been dead for 30 years

We need to understand how the brain works before we can start augmenting it. It'll happen eventually but by no means soon.
As for privacy that died in late 2001, I feel sorry for those too young to remember what freedom was like.

This the only consolation prize is that as everyone's data becomes public it will become worth less and less at it can no longer be used to "secure" or "prove" identity. Eventually it will run away to the point where it won't matter that your social security number has been leaked, as yours and everybody else's, including the president of the United States has been sitting in a hackers database waiting to be used. Eventually biometrics will be the only clean data for a while but 23amdme has already started fucking that up. When pundits call this the post truth era they are more correct than they realize. The best solution to stopping this "malarkey" would be major defederalization reforms (states' rights) but that will never happen, not in a million years. No but seriously, the future of privacy looks pretty bleak depending on the country you live in. UK goes mass surveillance while others wish they could. The best countermeasure might actually be supporting whatever organisation desperately tries to protect privacy.
