I have a bmi of 42 and currently on day 3 of an emergency crash diet ( < 500 calories per day). If all goes well I'll be able to stick with it for three months.
What supplements should I be taking?
This is short notice so I haven't made any preparations. From what I understand, besides the nutritional deficiencies, there are other complications, e.g. hypoglycemia. I don't have diabetes, but is there anything I can take to reduce the damage caused by chronic low blood sugar from being on a crash diet?

><500 calories

Just make it 0 calories. Only drink electrolytes. You will go mad with hunger and waste muscle if you eat a little bit every day like that.

Daily multi-vitamins for adults and water diet only. Literally only these two.

Do you have an explanation or source on this? Seems non-intuitive that eating less will cause less muscle to break down.
I'd only be concerned about muscle breakdown for vital organs.

Not something that has ever happened for a fatass. You would be auschwitz mode before this happened.

Ok, thanks for the advice. I'll try going starvation mode until I start feeling something is wrong.

You're suggesting an obese man fast for months on end

"No."

.. And A). it's still plausible (even if some are prioritized first, such as the stomach and epidermis). B). Fasting is usually much more habitual than "a day", especially a problem even because "intermittent fasting" is awful too – especially with how rare "full nutrition" is amongst diets (some 1%).

He could do that, but he is not likely to.

Type normally, faggot. How is fasting bad?

There are more than that of people fasting on YouTube for 20-30+ days blogging about it. Even if it was a danger, then someone fasting could eat a meal once per week and be fine.

is this true? It's very hard to find any answers on these questions except generic advice like "fasting is bad" "crash diets are bad".

You're fucking retarded. Don't crash diet. I did it, once hardcore and made my height match my weight. However nobody talks about the side effects:
- skin flopping around, if you're over 18 your skin won't stretch back.
- shitting piss because of low fiber content
- If you had any stomach surgeries like appendix - you have adhesions. When you lose weight that can tangle your stomach, in the worst case kill you.
- When I stopped giving a fuck and regained the weight I suddenly developed some histamine response with my skin itching. My GP told me the immune system got triggered and I will need to be taking anti-histamines until it gets back to its normal state. 5 years passed, I still need to take them.
Also if you find yourself in a famine situation you will reduce your chances of survival.
Fuck dieting, eat normally and punch every cunt in the face who has a problem with your weight.

1. like a bajillion people died in the holodomor so that's a pretty shit argument for famine as a weight loss plan
2. how many 20s and 30s ukranian peasants were morbidly obese? probably about zero

Staying at 42 BMI is a far worse health concern than any of the ones you mentioned.

Do it with specialist supervision like a GP or nutritionist or both. You can go blind from bad nutrition.
