How did cavemen get their dopamine fix without entertainment or stimulants like caffeine etc?

You don't get a dopamine spike out of direct entertainment. You get it from the expectation of reward, and if that entertainment stops being rewarding and becomes a default habit (which is the version of entertainment you're currently referring to), you're getting no dopamine out of that. Dopamine is supposed to keep you focused on a slightly long-term task in the grand expectation of the eventual reward, it is not something that you receiving out of getting likes on an instagram post or (You)s on 4chan. You get a dopamine spike while cooking your cake, while lifting for the pump to impress your date an hour later, while opening 25 tabs to find the ultimate clip to blow a load to, or while updating your dropshipping business which will result in greener charts tomorrow. You do not get it by scrolling this shithole or by playing games, because in both of these cases, you eventually get depressed and would rather kill yourself than spending another 16 hour day of doing that, which is a very obvious indicator that you're getting zero satisfaction out of it and are doing it merely because you have nothing else to do.

Stop believing everything you read online, especially if it's the modern circlejerk around self help that throws around neurotransmitters to pretend that there's science backing up their arbitrary rants about behavior.

Modern games are skinner boxes so yeah, they definitely stimulate your reward system and condition you to want more, in fact they are engineered specifically for that.
Games with virtual hierarchy (e-sport games, MMO, etc...) are especially advanced on this point and tend to be the polarize most of the addicted players.

No such thing, stop thinking it's some kind of drug rather than a pathway utilized whenever it is optimal.

If this is true, why do we repeat it 16 hours every single day then?
