If you're on top of Mount Everest, you can't see everything on the planet, because of the curvature. The human eye can see the moon, the sun, and the stars, which are much further than any two points on Earth.

If you watch the sun set completely behind the horizon and then quickly get to a location with higher elevation, you can watch the sun set again.
